Thank you for attending the 2012 Annual Spaghetti Dinner at the War Memorial Building. And please plan on joining us next year for this casual and fun event to support The Turning Point Home.

Opportunity drawings throughout the evening for lots of neat tuff such as Padres tickets, gift certificates, casual dining at local restaurants and more. Please note that we will keep the serving line open until about 7 PM.

Help Set the Thanksgiving Table for Turning Point

Next week the women of The Turning Point Home will celebrate Thanksgiving for the 41st time. For many of our residents it will be the first time in years that they will sit down to a nutritious holiday meal in a safe, sober and loving home. As you prepare for Thanksgiving with your family and loved ones we hope you will take a moment to help the women of Turning Point experience the warmth and dignity of this day throughout the year.

Since 1971, Turning Point has helped women recover from alcoholism with the help of donations from people like you. A crucial part of our philosophy has been to never turn away a woman in need for lack of funding, and we don’t intend to start now.

But in order to do that we need your support. Please help us this year by giving a donation to The Turning Point Home. We hope we can count on you for a generous donation of $100 or more. We are pleased to announce that we now offer a recurring donation option to spread your payment over the entire year. Your gift will make a real difference for us as we make our plans for 2012. Please note that even $10 or $20 benefits our continuing efforts to manage the budget reductions and increased costs we've experienced the last few years. Of course all donations are tax deductible.

Pancake Breakfast Hosted by Residents A Big Success

Over 200 friends, family and supporters attended the annual Pancake Breakfast at Turning Point Home on Saturday, October 29th. Planned, prepared and hosted by our residents, the event raised more than $2200 for the resident's fund, which is kept separate from the house operating account and is earmarked for outings, special events and items to enrich the quality of life for the residents.

Janet Knotts, our Executive Director said, “The residents worked really hard to make this Pancake Breakfast a huge success and a very special day for all who attended." Thanks go to all who contributed items for the raffle and to Tania Kacha of Hob Nob Hill Restaurant who once again donated the bacon, sausage and pancake mix. The door prize, an IPod Touch®, was won by a long time friend of Turning Point, Diane C.

Butterfly Banquet Saturday Night June 9th

Once again at the Bay View Restaurant located on board the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, the 42nd Anniversary event will include a silent auction, opportunity drawings and a two entree buffet meal. Tickets will go on sale in mid-April.

Residents Host Pancake Breakfast Sat. Oct 29th

Please join us at The Turning Point Home on Saturday, October 29th for the resident hosted annual Pancake Breakfast. Bring a friend, enjoy a hearty home cooked breakfast and support Turning Point at the same time! You’ll be able to meet residents, staff and new friends. Breakfast will be served from 8 AM until noon with opportunity drawings throughout. Tickets are only $6 and may be purchased in advance or at the door.

Purchase Tickets Now! The Butterfly Banquet is planned once again at the Bay View Restaurant located on board the Marine Corps Recruit Depot. The 41st Anniversary event will include a silent auction and raffle and a two entree buffet meal. For your planning considerations tickets will be offered at $50.00 and tables will seat 8. Parking is plentiful and free. We will provide a guest list to base security to facilitate seamless access to the base.

Tickets are on sale now - please purchase by June 10th as tickets are limited and we must provide the BayView an accurate count at that time.

Participation levels are as follows:

$10,000 - Monarch
$5000 – Platinum
$2000 - Gold
$1000 - Silver
$250 to $500 - Bronze

Sponsors will be recognized on our web site, acknowledged in our newsletter and listed in the Butterfly Banquet program. Please note that ticket sales will cover all costs so sponsor donations will go directly and entirely to the Turning Point Home operating fund.
